Irish Taxation Institute Promotes New Professional Identity of Registered Tax Consultants

The Irish Taxation Institute has embarked on a campaign to promote a new professional identity for their members.

As many of Ireland’s third level students are currently making decisions in relation to their future careers, the Irish Taxation Institute has embarked on a campaign to promote a new professional identity for their members, Registered Tax Consultant.

The campaign has two aims i.e. to emphasise the professionalism of their members to the business community, and to encourage students to consider a career in tax.  To promote the Registered Tax Consultant career choice, the Irish Taxation Institute will be advertising on student radio, through student websites, will host a range of on-campus presentations to lecture groups, and will have a strong presence at careers fairs.

Speaking about the launch of the new identity for tax professionals, Mark Redmond, Chief Executive of the Irish Taxation Institute, said “Those who choose the career of Registered Tax Consultant will be joining one of Ireland’s fastest growing professions, which will put them at the heart of the decision making process in leading businesses.  Business and commercial decisions are never made without considering the tax implications and this requires accurate, timely advice and the experience of an AITI [Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute] qualified Registered Tax Consultant.”

Combining business acumen, legal knowledge and communications skills, they will be the professionals advising business leaders on a host of business and commercial deals.  The career offers not only excellent financial rewards but rapid progression and the flexibility to work in Ireland or abroad both in practice or the corporate sector.

Under the Registered Tax Consultant identity, the general public and the business community now have one brand that they know and trust to deliver effective tax solutions.  They can be assured that a Registered Tax Consultant has qualified through a rigorous education and training process and is bound by the Irish Taxation Institute’s code of professional conduct.

Students and other professionals who would like to know more about the role of a Registered Tax Consultant can visit the Irish Taxation Institute website, www.taxireland.ie.
